Siri now has a new job in a call centre
It gets worse. I just had a call from 'Ashley' at 'Nationwide Advice Bureau'.
It was pretty clear from the pauses and the lack of inflection that this was not a human at all. Siri clearly has a new job. It - I cannot call it she - made a decent fist of a conversation if you followed it's script, but when suddenly faced with "When were you born?" replied "My company is..."
So, sadly folks, soon there will be no satisfaction from keeping them on the phone or abusing them. It's just a robot. Even the pittance paid to the call centre workers will now go elsewhere.
